By Oscar Camilleri, Claims Handler

A government watchdog has issued a nationwide safety warning in relation to several gas hob brands.  A gas connector on some models has been identified to be faulty and is prone to leaking, even when the hob is not in use. This can potentially lead to the risk of fire & explosion. Below is a list of manufacturers which have identified the faulty connector.

Apelson, Belling, Caple, Comfee, Cooke & Lewis, Cookology, Electriq, Kitchen Plus, Russel Hobbs, Statesman, Stoves, Swan

The government together with the manufacturers have organised a safety repair program, and a gas safe engineer will be sent out to test and replace the connector. Therefore, If you do have a gas hob from one of these brands installed; please refer to the below website for further information.
